By bus/boat

Iznik

Turks are proud of Iznik Ottoman tile-making tradition! During the Byzantine era, it had a more significant role – church councils in this fortress town shaped the future of Christianity. It was historically known as Nicaea (Greek: Νίκαια), from which its modern name also derives. The city was surrounded on all sides by 5 km of walls about 10 m high! Today the walls are pierced in many places for the roads, but much of the early work survives and as a result it is a tourist destination.

Princes' Islands

All four of them look very much alike but at the same time each one of them has their own special beauty and of course history! This is why you should visit all of them and have a small taste of how heaven would be like! One of the amazing things about these islands, is that people do not use cars or buses for their transportation. Just bicycles and phaetons, which is a four-wheeled horse-drawn carriage!!!All four of them look very much alike but at the same time each one of them has their own special beauty and of course history! This is why you should visit all of them and have a small taste of how heaven would be like!

Edirne

A city close to Turkey’s borders with Greece and Bulgaria. Edirne served as the third capital city of the Ottoman Empire from 1363 to 1453, before Constantinople became the empire’s fourth and final capital. At present, Edirne is the capital of Edirne Province in Turkish Thrace. Discover this historic city where there are a lot of mosques, hammams (baths), bridges, covered bazaars and towers!

Bursa

Bursa was the first major and second overall capital of the Ottoman State between 1335 and 1363. A more recent name is “Green Bursa”, in reference to the parks and gardens located across its urban fabric. This city rests at the base of Uludag Mountain, which was once thought to be the mythical Mount Olympus. You can visit the Ulucami (Grand Mosque), the Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum, the old Silk Market, the 600 Hundred years Sycamore tree and the Covered Bazaar!

Gallipoli

Gallipoli derives its name from the Greek “Καλλίπολις”, meaning “Beautiful City”! After the devastating earthquake in 1354, the Greek city of Gallipoli was almost abandoned, but swiftly reoccupied by Turks from Anatolia. The Gallipoli Campaign was one of the greatest Ottoman victories during the WWI. In Turkey, it is also regarded as a defining moment in the nation’s history: it was the basis for the Turkish War of Independence and the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
